Complete Architectural Design and Construction Services. Hornbeek Architecture is licensed in the state of Oklahoma with NCARB certification.
We design and build distinct, luxurious, award winning homes and structures providing you a sense of place and belonging while addressing the impact to the environment, as well as being mindful of your financial resources.
Transparent and clear communication, with the owner and the contractors, insures the clients needs and vision become reality. David Hornbeek echoes Harry S. Truman when he said, “It’s AMAZING what you can accomplish if you don’t care who gets the credit.”
Hornbeek Architecture, David Hornbeek specifically, has the enviable reputation and honor of collaborating with some of the most prestigious architectural design and consulting firms, nationally and internationally, on numerous projects. Over the years, while his home office remained in Edmond, Oklahoma, he has opened satellite offices in Annapolis, Maryland and Honolulu, Hawaii.
From the global experience, and through years of being "in the field" worldwide, Hornbeek has a proven track record of working collaboratively with fellow experts. He can attest that the best partnerships derive from teams with members who are willing to “check their egos” at the door.
Hornbeek has a firmly established rectitude for design excellence, built upon 40 years of experience and expertise. David has been fortunate to collaborate and work with internationally renowned and recognized design firms on several of the most recent and significant architectural projects in the OKC metropolitan area.
His design expertise is affirmed by numerous design awards for projects that include: The First Americans Museum, the Fordson (formerly 21c) Museum / Hotel in OKC, the Chickasha Community Bank Building, the Oklahoma City Community Foundation Building (Phase One & Phase Two), and several residential projects.
Other significant projects David has personally designed include, the Variety Care Administration Building, the Variety Care Britton Area Clinic, the Cross Timbers Municipal Complex & Public Service Center, the "M.A.C." Multi-Purpose Activity Center in Edmond, Tuttle City Hall, the Lazy "E" Arena, plus numerous exclusive residences such as The French Residence and the Corbett Residence.
David Hornbeek practiced as a sole practitioner for two years after leaving Loftis, Bell. Downing and Partners in 1981 where he was a partner. In 1983 to 1998 Hornbeek became a principal and partner in Blair Hornbeek Architects; from 1998 to 2002, he was principal of Hornbeek Larsson Hinchey Architects; and from 2002 to June of 2021, he was the founding partner and principal of design in Hornbeek Blatt Architects in Edmond, OK until he sold his stock in June of 2021.
His genuine interest now is to practice independently and to concentrate on projects of significant work that will impact the community, both aesthetically and environmentally, while encouraging sustainable economic growth.
